You can recognize a Sherwood from the overlapping front gables as well as the two long, narrow windows. The Sherwood had three bedrooms, one-and-a-half baths, a living room with fireplace, dining room, and a kitchen in the rear.
| The house was recently resided. In this capture from Google Streetview, you can clearly see the original Sears arched front door. |

| The rear of the house has two dormers for the bedrooms. |
The house was built in early 1930 by Allen and Irene Henry. He was a "pump man" at the Great Lakes Naval Base. They took out a mortgage from Sears for $7,350 in October 1929.
The Henrys sold the house in 1935 to the George Kapheim family.

This is another of those models that I see in Houses By Mail, and it makes me wonder if anyone has ever seen one :) And, here is one on an ad! I hadn't realized that we had two already on the list. Great find :)

My grandfather built a Sherwood house in Suffern, New York. It's still standing strong and still in the family.
If you would like to email me the address, I can add the house to the national database.
